It is an absolutely beautiful place to spend some relaxing time. Our trailer/cabin was darling with the perfect necessary amenities. The small lake has easy access for fishing, canoeing, and kayaking.
This is such a a beautiful resort. I came up for a boat race on Labor Day weekend. The staff, from the office to security, where friendly and helpful. The resort itself is very clean and well kept and I had an amazing time. The lake is beautiful and the members friendly. Lots of activities for kids and adults alike. I stopped by the cafe and the food was delicious and the staff friendly. I would highly recommend this resort to people looking for a private, safe, familyfriendly place to camp. A beautiful resort and a beautiful community.
My family has had a membership here for as long as I can remember. I've dozens of irreplaceable happy core memories growing up, spending a great majority of my time at this resort, wherein I made friends and had the time of my life as a kid.That said, for a great deal of time this beloved campground fell into neglected disrepair and a shockingly degenerative downward spiral quality-wise that was previously unfathomable to ever consider possible.The hugely popular restaurant & bar?Turned into a library, of all things.The family arcade?Gone. Where it was, empty.The well-stocked gift & grocery shop?Overpriced, and all but empty.The kind, helpful staff?Replaced and now rude and pushy.And the fun, safe family environment? Replaced with vandalism, fights, out-of-control parties, and teens wreaking havoc. Several years ago, my parents' golf cart was stolen, and their new trailer in storage was all but devastated by this. Ransacked & Left full of used condoms, trash, cigarette burns, and drug paraphernalia.This awful experience was made worse as the staff made it all but impossible for any investigation or recoup of losses to happen all while my elderly father underwent chemotherapy. We were then bullied into several "meetings" that turned into sales pitches for upgrades in membership.That awful stuff said, after changing hands MANY times, new ownership, from what I've heard, has turned this incredible resort around and has started to rebuild its reputation and facilities. Doing everything they can to rebrand and rework things back into the heydays when Rainbow Lake was a fantastic summer just waiting to happen.My family has a long-standing generational membership, and my wife & I have decided to see if the good things we've heard are true by visiting this campground again.We have high hopes.Nothing would make us happier than for this place to become the favorite summertime campground of our young children, as it was for my wife & me.For now, I'm resetting my 10-year standing 1⭐ review to a base score of 4⭐⭐⭐⭐ and can't wait to see how much it's changed since our last, less than pleasant experience. Perhaps this fall or next summer, after my book signing tour, we will stay for a week? I'm actually excited, and I hope for the best.
I love love love this place. Peaceful, laid back, plenty of activities to do or just lay low for a bit. This place is exactly what you need for a cabin vacation.Great for kids, pets, and people of all ages. I highly recommend!
I had my bachelorette party at Allegany Mountain Resort and it was absolutely fantastic! The experience exceeded all expectations. The staff was amazing—friendly, helpful, and truly made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived.We caught some huge fish (catch and release, of course), which was such a fun highlight of the trip. The facilities were clean and well-maintained, and there were so many great options for activities that kept everyone entertained, from relaxing by the water to enjoying the beautiful nature around us.If you’re looking for a spot that’s peaceful, fun, and full of outdoor adventure, I can’t recommend Allegany Mountain Resort enough. It was the perfect setting for an unforgettable weekend and other memories have been made here as well! 💙
We had a fantastic tour with Jesse — he was friendly, knowledgeable, and answered all of our questions with patience and care. We’re so excited to start making family memories at Allegany Mountain Resort! The location is perfect — it has everything you need, with the convenience of nearby stores but still tucked away enough to feel peaceful and secluded. Can’t wait for all the adventures ahead!
Wow!!!!!! What a great place and experience! Friendly and helpful sales staff! From the receptionist to the no pressure sales team it was an amazing experience. The cabins are spacious and the RV sites are well groomed. There are so many things to do! I highly recommend checking out Allegany Mountain Resort! We are glad we did!!!
I was at an RV show when I saw a booth advertising this place. So my wife and I went over and talked with the representative that was extremely informative and nice. We ended up scheduling a tour with a gentleman by the name of Mike. He took us around the grounds and we were immediately interested and ended up buying a membership. I feel that I needed to leave a good review because Lindsay and Ean are absolutely absurd. Mike is one of the most upstanding salesman that we have ever met. Every time that we come in and see him on the grounds he is always very cheerful and kind to us. This is truly a great place to stay especially for families. I would disregard any of these negative reviews and actually listen to what members have to say. Thanks again
What a beautiful relaxing place to go get away from everyday life🥰 Very positive upbeat people, friendly…. I went to visit my friends I didn’t get to stay the night YET🙃 My plans for this year will be this year with my 3 kids and my grandson I CANT WAIT👍🏼
I spent most weekends here from 5-20. It's a great place to unwind and take a break. Plenty of things to do and near other destination ski resorts, Ellicottville , and LilyDale. I'm so glad my son can experience places like this!
I have been camping here since my parents bought the original membership in 1986 and other than a short time when there was an owner that was not taking care of the place me and my family have always enjoyed it the current owner has really improved the whole park it's definitely my go to spot for family fun everyone is awesome staff and campers alike
Looking back on my childhood, yearly trips to Rainbow Lake stand out more than anything. I was always so excited to go each year. I became a mini golf pro on their course. Participating in fun kids activities broke me out of my shell. I'd make friends for the weekend every time. As I aged, it was no less fun! Safe to let your kids head down to the main area and enjoy some peaceful camping time at the campsite. Beautiful scenery, nostalgic store, taking the provided paddle boats and Kayaks out on the lake; It's a wonderful place. My fondest family memories with my grandparents and other extended family are all from time spent at Rainbow Lake. Take your kids and have a wonderful time!
We stayed in our own camper. Allegagany Mountain Resort is amazing. What an absolutely beautiful place to camp. We will be back for a third time already in October. Cannot wait!
We recently stayed here with our camper for a promotional weekend, and it was great. Although we didn't end up buying a membership just because it wasn't the right time for us, the price for the membership was definitely within reason for what they offer, the campground was awesome for adults and kids, there was so much do to and so many different activities that went on while we were there, had a small hiccup with the Scavanger Hunt but other than that we had a great time, every weekend is something different! The staff were all so friendly and helpful, all of our neighbors we also so friendly, if you have the time and resources to get a membership here I highly recommend it. We missed out on a great opportunity, but maybe someday we will be able to join the family. Thank you for a wonderful weekend!
We very much enjoyed our stay at this resort. We toured in August 2023 and while purchasing a membership was not the right choice for us at the time, I can see why many decide to do so! The park is beautifully maintained and clean. Options for family fun are unending: 2 pools, putt putt golf, tennis, shuffleboard, horseshoes, corn hole, kayaks, fishing...etc. Staff was very friendly and while we were told we would be in the 800 loop when we used our 3 day-2 night certificate, security gave us nice options in the 400 loop. The higher the number loop the further away from the lake but golf carts seem to be in abundance here! We came Sunday-Tuesday and it was very quiet. Based on the activities overview brochure for the week, weekends are super-busy with bands, DJ's and all sorts of camp-led activities for all ages! It is indeed a private resort and you must purchase a membership or be the guest of a member to enter. It feels very safe. If you enjoy camping, are looking to either set up a permanent site or simply be a "rover" ( one who comes in and out without a dedicated site but a guaranteed space), I would suggest calling and taking the tour.
We really enjoyed our stay here! We camped in the 900's (sites very near their RV storage area at far end of park). Lots of beautiful RV sites that are permanent and have owners that genuinely care for their spot in this world. Unfortunately, it's over 1.2 miles to get from our site to the park entrance/exit. That and there is a VERY strict 5 MPH policy. I'll do the math for you: it takes about 14 minutes to get to your site (if you're towards the back) once you pass the entrance or to exit the park once you get into your vehicle and start rolling. If you don't like tacking on over 28 extra minutes to your travels at an already far-from-any-city RV park on a two-way trip, I suggest getting a site very close to the entrance. Park 'planners' should have had an access road with a higher speed limit that connects the back half of the park to the main road put in to mitigate this.
My family has been coming up to the lake since the 1980's and we've always loved it at the lake. I'm the 3rd generation of my family to own a membership at Rainbow Lake
I must say this place is by far my favorite campground! The staff have been very polite, friendly and accommodating. I love everything about this campground and the people who camp there are also very friendly. Beautiful campground all around! I can't say there is anything I didn't like about it. I don't have a membership (yet) but would love another opportunity to camp there next year if possible. Thank you Allegheny Mountain Resort for making my camping experience the very best it can be! Went camping here for two weeks. Had a great time, they have two outdoor pools and an indoor pool Mimi gulf tennis playground paddle boats kayaks and canoes. Nine bath houses with laundry rooms
